Regularly, when cleaning a roof, what’s revealed is a roof that is in perfectly good order that has simply been neglected for some time and looks dirty. Whether it’s a tin roof or tiled roof, we at R&PC have come across clients who have been quoted thousands and thousands of dollars to repaint – when all that was needed, is a good clean. We of course offer quality roof restoration and painting work, but with a primary focus on roof cleaning because of the value it provides to our customers, we wanted to share some insights into the business. With the correct amount of pressure and equipment, roofs of all types (in most cases), can be cleaned many times before requiring rejuvenation work. Cleaned too rigorously, or with too much pressure, a roof can age unnecessarily though; there is like many things, a balance. There’s no magic number as to how many times any particular roof can be cleaned of course, but it’s worth doing some research before you pick-up the phone to a roof restoration company. A roof clean may be more regular job for those living in country areas or under trees, but regardless, unless a tin roof is showing signs of distress or rust, or a tiled roof has poor pointing and brittle tiles, it’s worth getting a roof cleaning quote before anything else. Without going into too much detail, to clean the roof of an average 3 bedroom home in the Northern Rivers is somewhere around $660, to $880, versus, painting the same size roof can run up to as much as $5000 or more. Obviously, that’s a huge difference for most Australian households and without the proper advice and information gathering, huge amounts of money can be wasted. When cleaning a roof, it’s relatively easy for our team to spot signs of distress (if there is any), and we’ll let you know if you require further maintenance up there. Whether it be maximizing the value of a property for sale, for routine maintenance or just because it’s super lovely to live in a clean home – we look forward to working with you for all of your roof and pressure cleaning requirements. |
